As we approach the Christmas period may I wish everyone a healthy and well-earned festive break.

At this time also, a number of colleagues who took the opportunity to retire in our VR process will be leaving this month and next month. May I thank you, most sincerely, for your service and commitment to the University and all that you have done to in the development of so many student lives over the years. On behalf of your friends and colleagues here we do wish and hope to stay in touch, especially at events as we celebrate the Bicentenary next year.

Our new University Magazine The Watt 2020 has been published this week, in all e-format, and you can enjoy reading about some recent successes of colleagues and students and alumni. Please do pass the link to friends and connections and share the great stories.

One Watt Choir performing in Rossyln Chapel

As I mentioned in last week’s blog message, I hope you are able to tune into the unusual 3D recreation of the One Watt Choir performing in Rossyln Chapel via Heriot-Watt’s dedicated Youtube channel on Sunday 20 December. This is an incredible collaboration and a most unique way to continue the very popular tradition that is our Christmas Carol Celebration. You can read more about the concert, and find the YouTube channel link, on our website.

Wishing you all the very best for 2021.
